A major Japanese telecommunications company is using Israeli AI technology to monitor the health and wellbeing of its employees.
The Tokyo-based Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NNT East), which is the fourth largest telecom company in the world, will use the wearable devices developed by Ramat Gan-headquartered Binah.ai to gather data that will then be processed and stored on the Japanese company’s cloud, enabling management of employees’ health.
The partnership was initiated and facilitated by NTT Israel.
Binah.ai’s technology uses a combination of signal processing and AI to measure vital signs including heart and respiratory rates, stress levels and more.
The data is collected through a technique called photoplethysmography (PPG) – a non-invasive method of measuring changes to the blood.
In the case of irregular data, the company will receive an alert notification, and a swift first-response measure can be achieved.
Both companies are now contemplating a further alliance to develop a platform to monitor fatigue and sleeping habits among NNT employees, in order to further enhance health and safety in the workplace.
