Israel digital media company Minute Media, which specializes in sports and culture, has acquired STN Video, a Canadian leader in content distribution, for a reported $150 million.
STN has a library of over two million videos covering topics such as sports, business, technology and lifestyle. It delivers content from hundreds of providers, including Variety and Bloomberg and all of the major sporting leagues in the US.
Minute Media, which has offices in London, New York, São Paulo, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, offers tools for the creation and distribution of short-form content.
Currently, the platform has over 250 distribution partners across 14 markets and in 10 different languages.
“With STN’s sports content highlight rights and award-winning video technology, Minute Media’s partners and clients will have access to a 360-degree view of the sports industry, combining content from athletes, teams, creators, and now, leagues,” said Minute Media founder and CEO Asaf Peled.
