Chinese software technology company ThunderSoft has invited Israeli mobility cybersecurity firm C2A Security to contribute to its new vehicle operating system, Dishui.
C2A Security works with automotive companies throughout the entire development process, ensuring that the carmakers have digital control over every line of code from planning to production, and even after the vehicles have rolled off the factory floor.
The Israeli startup is a strategic partner in China for ThunderSoft, a leading provider of operating systems technologies, which aims to make Dishui a top OS for Chinese vehicles.
Cybersecurity is one of the key security features of the new OS, along with deep learning algorithms and container virtualization.
A 2021 United Nations ruling means all carmakers in countries that are part of the Economic Commission for Europe must include cybersecurity provisions in their new vehicles from 2022 and all vehicles from 2024.
“We’re excited to join this trailblazing effort alongside industry leaders AWS, BlackBerry China, Arm, and others, to create a mobility specific Operating System that brings together all the elements for secure, scalable and innovative vehicle operating systems,” said Roy Fridman, CEO of C2A Security.
“Security by design should be the bedrock of automotive software development and this collaboration with ThunderSoft’s vehicle OS will bring our patented and proven technology to millions of cars globally, enabling the software defined vehicle era. Making cyber an inherent part in the system is critical to move the industry forward.”
