American and Israeli institutions are working together on a program to support startups working in the field of agriculture.
Israeli investment company Arieli Capital, its agricultural innovation center Frontier and international chemicals company Haifa Group have teamed up with Utah Tech University to create the START AgriTech Program, which will take place in April 2024 at the American school.
START AgriTech presents startups with 1-on-1 business and networking opportunities with both international investors and global corporations.
The startups will also be invited to present in front of partners, future clients, and allies at a “pitch event.”
This initiative primarily focuses on supporting seed-stage startups innovating in crucial sectors such as desert tech, water tech and smart farming.
“It is a privilege to impart our extensive knowledge in desert agriculture, recognizing that sharing this expertise is a meaningful contribution to improving our world,” said Frontier CEO Yariv Erez.
“We are committed to cultivating food in a smart, straightforward, and cost-effective manner, not only for today’s global population but also for the benefit of future generations. By reconnecting Agri & Culture we are paving the way towards a more sustainable world,” he said.
“The partnership between Utah Tech University and Arieli Capital marks an exciting collaboration, driving innovation and commercialization in AgTech and Desert Tech within the state, particularly in southwest Utah,” said Utah Tech President Richard Williams.
“This alliance aims to cultivate pioneering solutions for state-of-the-art technologies that cater to sustainable living in arid climates, potentially benefiting not only Utah but also communities globally.”
