Israeli tech that prevents distracted driving will be used in a new pilot carried out by System Logistics, an Italian manufacturer of automated warehousing that operates worldwide.
The SaverOne system prevents drivers from accessing distracting apps such as ones for instant messaging, while allowing others (such as those used for navigation) without user intervention.
The platform also differentiates between passengers wishing to use their phones and the person sitting in the driver’s seat, and grants them access.
The tech will initially be implemented in a number of vehicles from the System Logistics fleet. If successful, it could also be equipped in more of the company’s vehicles.
System Logistics is SaverOne’s second Italian customer after Iveco, a manufacturer of transport vehicles.
“This marks another successful penetration into a key Italian customer and represents our increasing momentum in Europe,” said Ori Gilboa, CEO of SaverOne.
“This new pilot win is another initial customer penetration whereby the potential from ultimately expanding to the remainder of the customer’s fleet, would be significant,” he said.
“As our strong momentum demonstrates, we are becoming increasingly well positioned in European markets where our products can significantly contribute to enhancing road safety throughout the continent.”
