An Israeli startup whose AI system is trained to recognize guns, explosives and other dangerous items is now working with Israel Railways.
SeeTrue, which operates from Tel Aviv, London, New York and Amsterdam, has integrated its technology into security checkpoints at train stations across Israel. This includes the country’s largest stations, where more than 1,000 bags can be inspected in an hour.
The integration of the system at train stations means the compulsory security checks at each location are carried out more smoothly and with less queuing for passengers.
The company says the system has already identified a large knife concealed in a bag at one of Israel’s busiest stations. Security forces present at the station were alerted and the owner of the bag was detained.
“Partnering with a high-quality, innovative mass-transit organization like Israel Railways is a testament to our commitment to revolutionizing safety and security across multiple domains, making our cities and transportation systems safer and more efficient,” said SeeTrue CEO Assaf Frenkel.
“Innovation at Israel Railways is a key part of our strategy, and AI plays a pivotal role in strengthening our pledge to passenger safety, seamlessly infusing intelligence into our security strategies and enabling us to provide optimal security for our passengers and our employees,” said Israel Railways’ innovation chief Hagay Rozenfeld.
