An Israeli startup that developed an ultrasound simulation to help train medical students has been acquired by a multinational manufacturer of anatomical models for healthcare education.
iNNOGING Medical’s e Sono platform lets clinicians and medical and sonography students at all levels of experience learn and improve their ultrasound skills on any device from anywhere, with just an internet connection.
The startup, which was founded in 2018 and is based in Rosh Ha’ayin in central Israel, was acquired by 3B Scientific. The Hamburg-headquartered firm is a manufacturer of medical simulation products and anatomical models, ranging from brain models to virtual reality simulators.
iNNOGING’s ultrasound simulation platform allows medical professionals and learners to hone their skills without the need for physical patients or expensive equipment.
It uses real-life scenarios as if the patient were right next to the user, allowing them to practice probe positioning and learn hand-eye coordination, while providing immediate feedback on each exercise.
Clinicians can also upload their own scanned data from any ultrasound device to create customized teaching content in minutes.
“We are incredibly excited to join forces with 3B Scientific, embarking on our journey to redefine the landscape of digital ultrasound simulation with e Sono,” said Adi Baruch, co-founder and CEO of iNNOGING Medical.
“Together with the development strength and global reach of 3B Scientific, we aim to revolutionize how healthcare professionals acquire and train their ultrasound skills. This partnership marks a pivotal step forward in our commitment to advance ultrasound training around the world.”
