BeeHero, an Israeli beekeeping company that uses sensors to collect comprehensive data from beehives, has announced its expansion to Australia.
BeeHero is partnering with Australian beekeeping and pollination company, Monson’s Honey and Pollination, to help beekeepers assess the health of their colonies.
BeeHero uses sensors that measure parameters like sound, humidity, and temperature in beehives. It analyzes this data using AI in order to detect potential problems, as well as pollination progress.
The BeeHero app allows beekeepers 24/7, year-round virtual management of their colonies’ health through measuring the colony growth, brood health, and queen presence.
BeeHero’s Healthy Hive Score gives beekeepers an in-depth image of the state of their colonies, enabling them to take proactive measures to prevent colony loss and ensure bee welfare.
The platform already serves growers, beekeepers, agronomists, and agricultural retailers across the US.
The joint venture is the company’s first foreign partnership and one that BeeHero says it is aiming to recreate in Europe, South Africa, and South America.
BeeHero was founded in 2017 in Tel Aviv. The company is currently headquartered in California, USA and houses its Research and Development in Israel.
“We are excited to combine our bee monitoring technology and precision pollination experience with Monson’s unparalleled expertise in honey production and pollination services to lower the mortality rate and enhance the productivity of honeybee populations across Australia,” said Itai Kanot, COO and Co-Founder of BeeHero.
“We are delighted to join forces with BeeHero, a true innovator in the field of pollination technology,” said Trevor Monson, Director of Monson’s Honey and Pollination.
“This partnership represents a powerful fusion of traditional expertise and advanced digital solutions, unlocking unprecedented possibilities for the future of sustainable agriculture.”
