Israel and Hamburg, known respectively as the startup nation and the startup capital of Germany, have boosted their cooperation on innovation, beginning with a recent series of conferences in the German city and cementing a partnership struck in February.
The first summit, called “Digital Innovations from Israel – Opportunities for Hamburg Companies,” showcased Israeli startups and digital innovations and brought together the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Hamburg Invest, and the German-Israeli Chamber of Commerce Abroad.
Taking place at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the conference provided an overview of Israeli companies and developing areas of tech such as fintech, cybersecurity, and aerospace.
It was followed by two more events highlighting the collaboration during which Israeli startups were put in the spotlight.
“Israel is very good at driving innovation. Hamburg is an attractive market and offers Israeli start-ups the chance to scale up,” said Veronika Reichboth, Head of the Startup Unit at Hamburg Invest.
“Our events offer the various stakeholders an opportunity to make mutually beneficial and valuable contacts.”
The partnership will facilitate tech scouting and cooperation between Hamburg-based companies and Israeli startups.
