Luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is launching an innovation program in Tel Aviv.
The new Open Innovation program will promote innovation in mobility, and strengthen relationships between JLR and Israeli startups, investors, and corporate entities.
It will identify local technologies, including electrification, manufacturing, sustainability, and connectivity, and help scale them up to become global mobility solutions and services.
The innovation program, announced at the EcoMotion conference in Tel Aviv, is part of the carmaker’s “Reimagine” strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 54 percent across its entire supply and operations chain by 2030 (compared to levels in 2019).
It is partnering with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian multinational outsourcing company, to open the new program.
“We are delighted to extend our Open Innovation programme to Israel and leverage the research and technology innovation excellence of TCS,” said Igor Murakami, director of the program.
“The program will be vital in giving us a footprint within the region, opening up opportunities to innovate with a range of disruptive Israeli start-ups to help us deliver uncompromised and sustainable modern luxury.”
