Fans of soccer and basketball can now enjoy a player’s eye view of their beloved games, thanks to AI bodycam technology developed by Tel Aviv-based company MindFly.
The ultralight cameras will be worn by the referees at the two semifinals and final of the EuroLeague Basketball’s Final Four taking place on Friday and Sunday in Kaunas, Lithuania. The immersive experience includes both video and audio, which can be enjoyed in real time and after the games with clips posted by EuroLeague on its website and social media platforms.
The top EuroLeague teams already working with MindFly include Panathinaikos, Fenerbahçe, and Bayern Munich. But the technology is also expanding to soccer, with world-leading clubs such as Manchester City, Galatasaray and Sparta Prague also using the technology as well as US soccer league MLS and Italy’s Serie A.
The company is also working with broadcasting companies including T-Mobile and Globo.
The AI-based cameras capture video and sound from the point of view of the players and/or the referee. The video is stabilized, edited and distributed via an AI cloud platform.
“The videos we produce for EuroLeague events should generate immense interest among basketball enthusiasts,” said MindFly CEO and co-founder Eran Tal.
“Our technology enhances the experience for passionate viewers and fans who want to follow every possible angle of all the action on the court, especially during decisive game-changing moments.”
