An Israeli company has developed AI that analyzes shoppers’ facial expressions and eye movements as they walk around a store.
The data helps them understand what products customers are selecting, and which aisles they prefer.
Shopper AI (known as Drill in Israel) tracks their behavior and emotional reactions through surveillance cameras.
It uses eye tracking, and micro-analysis of facial expressions to measure excitement and other emotions.
The company is due to announce an international expansion during the National Retail Federation’s annual expo, Retail’s Big Show, which opened today in New York City.
The company says other solutions depend on hardware, but its product is cloud-based, completely automated and integrates machine learning and other AI-powered systems into existing video surveillance infrastructure.
“With increasing e-commerce growth, brick-and-mortar businesses need to know their shoppers more than ever,” said Lanor Daniel, Co-founder and CEO.
“Shopper AI helps brick-and-mortars level-up and situates them to compete against online shopping alternatives. Shopper AI helps brands identify in-store purchasing behaviors and provides analytics and insights to improve the shopper’s experience, creating brand loyalists.
“Knowing how shoppers purchase across channels is not enough. Understanding abandonment rates and having live shopper insights is crucial to convert shoppers in the new age.
“If you want growth, know your shopper. Maximize their shopping carts and watch them purchase again and again.”
Shopper AI was founded in 2020, and is based in Tel Aviv.
