Riverside.fm, a remote recording platform, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $35 million in a Series B funding round.
The round was led by Oren Zeev, with participation from Lachy Groom and Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six.
This round brings the company’s total funding to $47 million to date.
Founded in 2019 by Gideon and Nadav Keyson, Riverside is a go-to audio and video recording service in the broadcast media, entertainment, and tech spaces with capabilities in producing podcasts, interviews, and internal and external communication videos.
Last week, Riverside became a partner of Spotify, announcing a new collaboration with the streaming giant’s podcast platform Anchor, which makes professional video podcast creation accessible to all podcasters on the platform.
Riverside said it will use its new funding to expand its current team and invest in building a more robust experience for creators.
Riverside has already facilitated millions of recordings on its platform which simplifies the high-quality recording and editing processes. As Riverside works from the browser, web, or mobile application, it enables everyone to create high-quality content without needing any professional gear or knowledge.
The platform is now used by individual creators as well as enterprise customers including Guy Raz, Marques Brownlee, The New York Times, Fox Sports, Marvel, iHeartMedia and Microsoft.
Riverside currently has 90 employees that comprise a team across Tel Aviv, New York, and Amsterdam, in addition to remote workers across the globe. The team is made up of passionate content creators that come from industry players like Patreon, Google, Wix, Amazon, among other great companies, and are excited to change the future of audio and video creation.
Riverside also announced that the platform will be on iPad for the first time, later this week.
