Ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s historic visit as the first Israeli Prime Minister ever to visit Bahrain, Israel and Bahrain signed a historic agreement in high-tech and science on Monday night.
The agreement was signed by Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Orit Farkash-Hacohen and Bahrain’s Industry, Commerce, and Tourism Minister Zayed Al Zayani.
“Israeli high-tech is recognized across the world crossing borders and continents, and it is a strategic asset to our foreign relations. We will continue to operate with other countries, near and far,” Farkash-Hacohen said in the statement.
According to the agreement, the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) will work with the Bahraini Ministry to identify challenges and opportunities for pilots of innovative Israeli technologies in Bahrain,
CEO Dror Bin, explained that the Israel Innovation Authority will commence cooperative research and development with Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism in innovation areas such as climate technologies, energy efficiency, and advanced production.
“The Israel Innovation Authority is proud to cooperate within the framework of the Abraham Accords with Bahrain,” Bin said.
