Hibob, the HR tech startup behind the people management platform bob, announced on Thursday that it raised $70 million in a Series B funding round led by SEEK and Israel Growth Partners (IGP).
Founded in 2015, Hibob is a cloud-based platform designed to help human resources departments turn employee data into actionable information by identifying the various cultures within a business. The company currently employs 150 people in New York, London, and Tel Aviv. Its clients include companies such as Happy Socks, Fiverr, and IronSource. The platform also integrates with Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Mercer.
The new funding will enable Hibob to expand globally and continue product development in its efforts to simplify people management, culture building, and employee engagement for remote and dispersed workforces, the company said.
Hibob has raised a total of $124 million to date since its launch in 2015, including a Series A funding round in 2019, backed by investors like Bessemer Venture Partners, Battery Ventures, Eight Roads Ventures, Arbor Ventures, Presidio Ventures, Entrée Capital, Cerca Partners, and Perpetual Investors. All of these investors have also contributed to the current round.
“As we were developing the concept behind our HR platform, we looked at the world of work and recognized that it was changing,” said Ronni Zehavi, CEO and co-founder of Hibob. “I’ve spent my career managing people in different kinds of organizations and came to the realization that the vast majority of HR tech tools I used were not designed for the way people work today – globally, remotely, and collaboratively.”
Claude Silver, chief heart officer with VaynerMedia, a NY-based digital agency and a client of Hibob said “2020 was the year that pushed the practice of HR into the spotlight.”
“HR leaders have been challenged to support their businesses and their people in new and different ways – to drive communication, engagement, and development despite the obvious hurdles. Bob has enabled us to keep our people informed, engaged, and productive but perhaps most importantly, to nurture the unique culture and vibe that makes VaynerMedia such an exceptional place to work,” he said.
