Amazon took a significant step towards the official launch of its operations in Israel on Wednesday by opening a dedicated website in Hebrew (and English) specifically targeting local sellers and buyers.
The Amazon Services site offers local and foreign vendors access to Israeli buyers through the Amazon platform, and Israeli businesses/sellers can enroll in the service to ship their goods abroad either through the “Fulfillment by Amazon” (FBA) program or through an international shipping carrier of their own choice.
Amazon also offers its own shipping services to businesses through a “Local Delivery program” and also enables sellers to handle deliveries through their preferred shippers.
After enrolling in the service, Israeli businesses receive an email that claims the program will be on Amazon.com “soon.” They also receive a list of popular product categories for sale. The categories include items like tools, sports equipment, footwear, and cosmetics.
The site offers testimonies from two Israeli companies selling products overseas as part of its campaign. The video clips feature Motty Fridman, founder of Minus417 Dead Sea skincare products and Yaniv Shtalyrd, CEO of BabySense baby monitor.
