Senior executives from US commerce and tech giant Amazon are expected in Israel this week for logistics negotiations and meetings with local delivery operators, the business daily Globes reported.
According to the report, the delegation will include two executives from Amazon’s European headquarters – Amazon senior network strategy manager Antoine Mosneron Dupin, and cross-border transport AGL manager James O’Leary. Citing “sources,” Globes further reported that Amazon has plans to launch a localized Hebrew-language e-commerce site sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
There were talks late last year that Amazon was considering setting up a shipping center in Israel.
Amazon launched a localized site in Turkey last month, offering shoppers there products in 15 categories including books, consumer electronics, sports and outdoor goods, tools and more from Turkish and international sellers.
