Storyball, the interactive smart ball that acts as a storyteller and offers experiences to kids as they play, through character “skins” that come with audio, vibration and light cues, announced that they have partnered with US cable children’s channel Nickelodeon and international publishing company HarperCollins to add new skins to their collection from hit children’s tv show PAW Patrol and book series GUNK Aliens and Magic Ballerina. “Chase” and “Skye” from PAW Patrol have been produced alongside “Snivel the Robo-Dog” from GUNK Aliens and “Ballerina” from Magic Ballerina.
“We are truly excited to partner with Nickelodeon and HarperCollins Publishers to bring beloved brands ‘PAW Patrol,’ ‘GUNK Aliens’ and ‘Magic Ballerina’ to life in a new and engaging way,” said Chen Lev, CEO of Storyball, “Entrusting us with their brands shows their recognition of Storyball’s innovation in child development.”
The Storyball is a plain white toy that can be covered with a variety of character skins which unlock different stories and games for kids through movement. While it is touted as a screen-free console, it comes with a mobile app, which augments, organizes and tracks a child’s play. Children can download new content, share their achievements, and challenge their friends. Parents can also use the app to monitor their child’s progress and playtime.
While the company is set to officially set to ship its product in November 2018, they have already launched their Kickstarter campaign in June, raising $131,572 on a $30,000 funding goal. The campaign features Super Early Bird Specials of just $49 as well as other offers.
The Israeli-based company also has their own three original character skins that have been created and designed for different age groups, including a special agent, a bear, and a unicorn. These offer learning activities based on concepts like problem-solving and motor skills.
