BGN Technologies, the technology transfer company of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev announced Wednesday its cyber research lab Cyber@BGU will team up with US cloud-based IoT security platform Dojo by BullGuard to develop advanced technologies for automated IoT threat detection which will use artificial intelligence and advanced machine learning algorithms to combat IoT-related cyber attacks.
The two companies said in a joint statement that their research will be part of the Dojo Intelligent IoT Security Platform for Communication Service Providers (CSPs).
“We’re proud to announce the launch of the new Cyber@BGU-Dojo by BullGuard research lab. Together, our mutual teams will join forces to expand the frontiers of IoT cybersecurity and move the sector forward through our findings,” said Professor Yuval Elovici, software and information systems engineering, and director of BGU’s Cyber Research Lab.
BullGuard’s General Manager of IoT Security Yossi Atias said, “An estimated 80 percent of IoT devices have built-in vulnerabilities, creating a tremendously vulnerable IoT landscape. Many IoT devices are not properly designed cybersecurity-wise. As a result, they introduce multiple cybersecurity risks for both physical and digital assets, posing significant risk to data integrity and privacy.”
He added, ” The joint research partnership between Dojo by BullGuard and Cyber@BGU will foster cybersecurity innovation. The technology will be used to advance the Security of Things, with a high level focus on threat detection and privacy issues created by IoT devices.
