May 28, 2018 | Pixoneye, a data analytics startup based in Tel Aviv and London that uses on-device software to analyze a user’s smartphone pictures to predict his or her interests, in order to allow retailers to send tailored advertisements, rewards programs, and special offers, has raised $8 million in a Series A round from UK venture capital fund Octopus Ventures. Pixoneye says it hopes to improve its deep learning code to predict the user’s forthcoming events so that brands can interact with them at appropriate times, UK daily The Telegraph reports. Founded in 2014 by Nadav Tal-Israel and Ofri Ben Porat, Pixoneye says it “uses AI and computer vision to understand your users and personalize their in-app experience.”
