World-renown Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard is partnering with personal AI robot startup Robotemi, headquartered in New York City with an R&D lab in Tel Aviv, to become the company’s chief brand officer (CBO), according to a company announcement
Suchard gives memorable performances of mind reading, thought influencing, predicting, and telekinesis, which have earned him international acclaim as a supernatural entertainer and mentalist. He is especially popular with Hollywood celebrities and has performed at private events and gatherings of state leaders and business people. He’s also been featured on US primetime television on numerous occasions including The Late Late Show with James Corden.
As CBO, Suchard will lead the Robotemi’s creative efforts, the company said.
Founded in 2015, Robotemi developed a robot called Temi, which it calls the world’s first intelligent, mobile, personal AI robot. The product taps into the big trend of smart-display assistants, but it differentiates itself by being mobile, featuring Human-Robot Interaction characteristics and moving autonomously, the company says. Users can control Temi from any remote location in the world via the app and command different actions, from greeting guests at a hotel or restaurant to providing elderly medical assistance.
Robotemi also has a business and manufacturing location in Shenzhen, China where it recently announced a cooperation with Tencent, a Chinese multinational investment holding conglomerate, whose subsidiaries specialize in Internet products and services. Temi is the first robotic device to feature Tencent’s services.
Temi is distributed in Europe, China, the US and can be purchased through Amazon. Robotemi recently stated that the robot will soon be distributed in Israel.
“I am excited to join this groundbreaking venture in the field of personal robots. The decision came after I was exposed to the many advantages temi has to offer, especially to the idea of the reconnecting to your loved ones from [a] distance,” Suchard said in a statement, adding that he plans to incorporate Temi into his global performances.
Robotemi CEO Yossi Wolf said: “We are thrilled with the joining of Lior Suchrad to the Robotemi’s leading team. Lior is not only the world’s leading mentalist but also knowledgeable and passionate about the technology world. We have no doubt that the combination of Lior’s marvelous capabilities with Temi’s groundbreaking technology will lead the company to conquer additional peaks”.
Temi by Robotemi has won a number of prestigious awards over the past year, including 1st prize in the field of robots and drones at the Shanghai CES Asia 2019 Exhibition, a Gold Award in the Personal Robot category at the prestigious Edison 2019 Awards, and the best robot in CES Las Vegas according to Tom’s Guide and the International PC Magazine Award for Best of MWC 2018.
