Israeli travel insurance startup Ginger, a company that provides customized international travel insurance for high-tech companies and employees in Israel and abroad, has raised a $1.3 million seed round from private investors, the company has announced.
Founded in 2018 by Oshrat Ben Moshe, after 12 years in the insurance field, including a position as a VP of Sales at Israel’s Clal Insurance, the company handles claims for compensation due to canceled and delayed flights, injury or illness, luggage holdups or loss.

Ben Moshe says the lack of travel insurance for high-tech companies is a “significant gap” in the field. “This is an industry that knows how to handle complex projects, but it precisely when they fly their employees abroad, that they handle issues manually and run into problems.”
Ginger also has an app which they call a “one-stop-shop” for all travel insurance and travel expense management including airline tickets, hotel vouchers, and other important documents.
