Israeli 4D high-resolution radar company Arbe Robotics announced it had won a silver award for Most Exciting Start-Up last week at the AutoSens Awards 2018 in Brussels.
The company’s innovative radar system is “an exciting development in the radar field,” said Robert Stead, managing director of Sense Media Group and Director of the AutoSens Awards. Their recent funding round and the opening of the Beijing office are “very positive steps towards a bright future,” he said.
“I for one, can’t wait to follow their journey,” Stead added.
The judging panel also said they were impressed by the system that gives autonomous cars the ability to sense humans, cars, lights, poor weather conditions, and other elements in its path. It’s considered the world’s first system to be able to do this.
The awards, which celebrate the brightest minds and best companies in the global autonomous vehicle tech sector, are part of the international AutoSens Vehicle Perception Conference and Exhibition, are now in their second year. Nominees were judged by a panel of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, industry organizations and insiders, and academic heavyweights.
AEye Inc., a US-based company that created iDAR, a new form of intelligent data collection that acts as the eyes and visual cortex of autonomous vehicles, won first place at the awards, while US simulation platform Metamoto also won a silver award.
