Put away your selfie sticks, millennials. Israeli minds have come up with something much cooler – and refreshing – the selfie Coke bottle.
Especially designed by Coca-Cola Israel and Tel-Aviv based creative agency Gefen Team for Coca-Cola Summer Love, Israel’s largest annual outdoor brand event held in July, this novel device easily attaches to a half-liter Coke bottle. It then senses the exact moment the bottle reaches a 70-degree tilt, the ideal angle for taking selfies, before snapping a photo. The gadget also features a dedicated share function which allows users to effortlessly share their bottle-made selfies on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

“Users tag themselves and their friends in photos on Coca-Cola’s social media assets,” the agency said in a statement. “It really does the trick and makes the partygoers more present and active during the event, knowing they can share their special moments just by drinking.”
From robots to bottles
In an effort to attract more teenage coke drinkers, Coca-Cola called upon Gefen Team, which helped the giant soft drink manufacturer further carry out the selfie bottle concept. Gefen has a long track record working with Coca-Cola, masterminding a number of campaigns including a ‘social robot’ which gave teenagers who could not attend the 2013 event in person the opportunity to participate in the festival remotely.
However, so far only 10 Coca-Cola selfie bottles were created for Coca-Cola Summer Love, and according to Coca-Cola, there are currently no plans to produce more. We promise to keep you posted!
