According to Guy Franklin, creator of the interactive map “Israeli Mapped in NY”, in January 2013 there were about 60 Israeli startups in the Big Apple. In just over a year, this number grew to a whopping 200.
Franklin, a New York-based Israeli senior executive at Ernst & Young, saw this massive flow happen firsthand and recently started mapping the Israeli startups operating in New York on an interactive map (he also did the same in Boston).

Franklin believes budding Israeli companies no longer see Silcon Valley as their only choice when considering a move the the US. New York, he says, is just as a cool, and, more importantly, it’s only a direct flight away from home.
