Medtronic's acquisition of Mazor ranks among the largest deals in Israel completed in 2018.

Medtronic previously said it was buying robotic surgery startup Mazor Robotics for some $1.6 billion, and VisionSense for $75 million.

Medtronic is buying the Caesaria-based medical device company - in the largest deal ever for an Israeli medical firm - to become a world leader in robotics-guided spinal surgery.

Mazor Robotics, Israeli developer of surgical robots and complementary products for spine surgery, signed an agreement with Cicel Science & Technology to distribute its Renaissance system in China.
