An Israeli startup that uses algorithms to generate highly accurate transcripts and captions is using generative AI to improve its product, with an initial focus on users in higher education.
Verbit has launched Gen.V, a generative AI service that can analyze transcripts produced by the company to extract key information and provide automatic summaries and headline suggestions.
The new offering combines the startup’s advanced algorithms, natural language processing, content generation abilities, and artificial intelligence in order to do so.
“We believe the greatest value is created when services and solutions match customer needs,” said Tom Livne, CEO and founder of Verbit.
“As such, Verbit is focusing on generative AI and uncovering industry-specific applications in each of our industries. We’re excited that our first product for higher education is now live, and we’re in the process of rolling out promising applications in other areas such as using AI to find contradictions in live depositions for the legal sector.”
Michael Rosman, VP Marketing at Verbit, said: “It’s our mission to not only provide the best tools for transcription, but also to help our customers extract the full value from their transcripts by harnessing the power of the latest developments in generative AI.
“From a higher-ed perspective, the AI summaries of transcribed lecture materials make it easier for students of all backgrounds, abilities and learning styles to understand their subjects and improve their performance.”
Verbit’s services have already been used by more than 3,000 businesses and institutions across the education, legal, media, government, finance, and corporate industries. Founded in 2017, it has headquarters in both Givatayim in central Israel, and New York.
