The Streets Have their own Language

Guy Sharett takes it to the streets! And by “it” we mean teaching. Hebrew. Giving Hebrew lessons while sitting in a cafe or passing down a poster, his students inhale the language together with the urban culture of the Tel-Aviv metropolis.
Guy spent several years in the far east, and even wrote a book about Thailand, so he knows a thing or two about getting immersed in a foreign culture and enjoying it.

Liad leads quite a life for an IT entrepreneur, and Delver, the social search engine he’ve sold to Sears is his 2nd success, the first being an anti-virus solution to McAfee.
And as far as Liad is concerned, he’d rather be wind surfing than living the corporate dream…

Gaza-Sderot Life in Spite Everything

The article is about a project which reports on life as experienced by men, women and children in Gaza (Palestine) and Sderot (Israel) through stories which are being aired on the Internet. Arik Bernstein the Co- Producer of the project tells us about the idea behind this project and its feedback around the world. Recently Gaza-Sderot was nominated for an International Digital Emmy Award in the non-fiction category.

Roy Shapira invites you for Petrograd adventure

Roy Shapira is a brilliant game designer, dedicated to the point that you might call him a workaholic.

After single-handedly completing his award-winning Crysis mode “Combat Training”, which took him 9 month of work, he now leads an 18-members game-developing team in order to create “Petrograd” - a viable independent AAA game by 2009.

In this interview he shows concept pictures and videos, talks about the development process, demonstrates how game design works and gives some advice for novice game designers.

What he doesn’t talk though, is how in the world can you keep a day job, a wife and young kids, and still do a full time job as a developer in your free time. The nocamles team has a suspicion that it involves time travel but we can’t peove anything…

Ohad Barzilay’s “Mytopian” vision

In a perfect world, you could interact with your friends online anyway you want. There would be no boundaries, no limits on platforms or networks, and you could pkay or chat with your buddies from system to system any time…
Sounds nice, eh? Problem is, this vision is quite Utopian (like Ohad Barzilay’s Mytopia suggests. Many try to bring uniformity online, like OpenID for web identity or Trillian for IM clients. But Barzilay’s vision took him further. He wants to run a gaming system across multiple platforms, with combined stats, credits and rankings. You won’t care what system your game rival uses or what app he is plating from – just that he plays.
