WeWork and Reut Group Launch Impact Labs
November 7, 2017 | WeWork has opened Impact Labs, a new space for entrepreneurs, companies, and social innovators to develop physical products. Impact Labs gives access and support to state-of-the-art hardware and design tools, including IoT and electronic labs, laser cutters, high-end 3D printing, photography and 3D scanning, metal, robotics and more. The space is a new, first-of-its-kind 1,000 sq. meter hardware innovation center at WeWork Hazerem in Tel Aviv. The lab includes TOM: Tikkun Olam Makers, a global initiative by the Reut Group, which connects people with disabilities and the elderly with designers, developers, engineers, and “makers” to develop solutions for everyday challenges. TOM will host “Makathons” to focus on creating products that will improve the daily activities of people with physical disabilities. Impact Lab members will receive WeWork membership and the space will allow members to schedule sessions with fellow members to connect, teach, and learn from other’s expertise and train on all the technologies available in the space. The WeWork space for creators transforming buildings into dynamic environments for creativity, focus, and collaboration, was founded in 2011 by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey.
