SphereUp hopes to get people using their solution with a Google-like search to find contact information on organizations’ websites.

The SphereUp search tool, when integrated with an enterprise’s website, gives visitors direct access to contact information. Users who search for people, departments, phone numbers or email addresses can type in a name, title, or any keyword and SphereUp says it displays only relevant contact-related results. The tool is specifically aimed at giving online visitors of large organizations and entities like hospitals a better contact-finding experience.
The idea was born out of a personal need. “One day I was looking for the email address of a friend I had not spoken to for several months and realized that I had no idea where it was kept,” Ronen Abramov, Co-Founder, VP of R&D, and CTO, tells NoCamels. “In my smartphone? Google? Outlook? In each system, I had a different email address for him, and I did not know what his most current address was.”
Just what the doctor ordered
Abramov and fellow graduate of Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology Yevgeny Safovich began looking into the world of contacts and realized that both individuals and organizations struggle to manage their databases of contacts. To fill the ripe void in the market the two founded SphereUp in 2009.
An example SphereUp highlights is a patient searching for a specific doctor or the number of the radiology department on a hospital’s website. A simple website search tool would give hundreds, if not thousands, of results to wade through. In contrast, a SphereUp search only returns a few more detailed possibilities. The patented system sorts through and eliminates non-contact information, as well as multiple entries for the same contact, and aggregates everything into one screen.
Right now hospitals represent some of the major clients for SphereUp; others include government and municipal organizations, and large higher education institutions. Among the more recognizable customers are Fedex Israel, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and the Wolfson Medical Center.
“Our aim is for SphereUp to become the gold standard for making contacts easily accessible and sharable among individuals and within organizations and communities,” said Safovich.
